Sri Marri Ravindra Reddy
Hailing from illustrious Marri family, Sri M. Ravindra Reddy has been very active in public life by promoting and participating Student’s Union and cultural activities right from his school and college days.

He is devoted to Congress, and had his grooming under his father, Dr. M Channa Reddy, who is held in high esteem for his political acumen and administrative capabilities. He held various positions in the State Congress party as State General Secretary, Member on the Disciplinary Committee, Executive Committee member etc.

Mr.Ravindra Reddy ’s exposure to Government  working  commenced  in 1962  while he  was  assisting  his  father   Late     Dr  M Channa Reddy, who was the then a Cabinet Minister in Andhra Pradesh and later as central Minister, as Governor of several States and continued until his father’s demise in 1996 while he was serving as Governor of Tamil Nadu.

Mr. Ravindra Reddy’s  passion is in village development. He was Surpanch of his village Marpalli in Vikarabad Constituency during 1961-63 and took active interest in its development. He was involved in the development of several villages  in Vikarabad area. He was Secretary of the District Chamber of Panchayat Raj of Ranga Reddy District for some time. Mr. M. Ravidra Reddy has been very active in Ranga Reddy District Congress activities. He has participated in several political elections by active participation in campaigning. For several years he has been enrolling a large number of members at the time of the membership drive of the Congress Party. He has been an enthusiastic agriculturist undertaking cultivation of paddy, sugarcane, vegetables and also cultivation of plants used for distillation of essential oils.

The Government nominated Sri M Ravindra Reddy as member of the Trust Board of the famous Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams during the period 1991-93. As a member of several important Sub-Committees of the Temple, his contributions were well appreciated by one and all.

Mr. Reddy has been Chairman of Sree Ananthanabha Arts, Sceince and Commerce College at Vikarabad, one of the backward areas, for the last 22 years. This college with Intermediate was established in the year 1968 to provide quality education at affordable cost to the local population. Commenced with 140 students as an Intermediate College today the Institution has grown to 2700 students and up to Post Graduate level. This is the only Private College of this magnitude in the 10 districts of Telengana Region of Andhra Pradesh. The College has gained good reputation and the community is happy about it.

Mr. Reddy, as an entrepreneur, had set up several industrial units which include a unit for distillation of essential oils,  a unit for manufacture of water proof packaging material, a Khandasari Sugar Factory and also a distillery manufacturing Unit. At present, since 1981, he has set up a printing press and subsequently added computer data processing unit apart from looking after agricultural Farm.

During the period 1997-98. Mr. Reddy was the General Secretary of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee under the Presidentship of Mr. Mallikarjun. During this period he gained vast experience in local administration and liaison with the High Command members/officials of the State Election Commission. At APCC Office as General Secretary the Office administration was kept up-to-date and audited accounts were submitted to AICC before the prescribed time (first time in the history of APCC) after the election to the Parliament in 1997. In this election 22 congress candidates won out of total 42 seats. He was actively involved in election campaign. He has served as a member of APCC Disciplinary Committee for two terms and took active interest on different issues.

During 1978 when there was a split in the National Congress, and INDIRA CONGRESS was formed, he took active interest in the new Party office and assisted his father Dr M Channa Reddy. At that time Indira Congress swept the polls and formed the Government in Andhra Pradesh.

Rotary Activities
Mr. Ravindra Reddy’s passion to serve the community made him to join Rotary movement (a part of Rotary International, an International Organization serving the community since 1905) in 1972 and has been maintaining more than 100% attendance all these years. He held all important positions in the Organization. He was the President of the Club during 1981-82 and took over as District Governor during 1988-89.The entire revenue districts of AP except 4 districts of Rayalseema form the area of Rotary District. He provided exemplary leadership in administration and helping clubs to focus on community development and spreading the activities to several more locations. As District Governor he was very keen to extend Rotary to new areas and had successfully formed 38 new Rotary Clubs and revived one club in the District during his year of office.

Mr. Reddy provided leadership by setting own example by contributing large sums of money to Rotary Foundation and thus inspiring other members to follow suit. He has played a key role in Polio eradication efforts of Rotary International by being a member of the National Polio Puls Committee, which assisted the Government of India in formulating immunization policy for the entire country. He has represented the Rotary International President at the District Conferences held at Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, Dhaka (Bangla Desh) and Meerut in UP. He was a member, State Polio Immunization Committee constituted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for several years and helped in mobilizing large publicity materials for the Immunization days. In recent times he was responsible for Hepatitis Vaccine immunization programme taken up by his Rotary Club of Hyderabad as 3 H Project, which covered more than 1.05 laks children in 702 Government Primary Schools against the original target of 50000 children in 252 schools. He was also responsible for the successful implementation of a Matching Grant project in providing full sanitation and drinking water system in Ismailkhanpet village with a population of 12000.

Mr.Ravindra Reddy is recipient of Rotary International, highest being ‘Service above Self Award’. He is also recipient of the “Meritorious Award” and the ‘Distinguish service Awards” from the Rotary Foundation. He has traveled extensively throughout India and abroad and attended several meetings, Conferences, Seminars including Conventions at Singapore; Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Chicago.
Mr.Ravindra Reddy is happily married to Smt.M.Sarala Devi and both of them are “Major Donors” to the Rotary Foundation. Both Mr Ravindra Reddy and Smt Sarala Devi have endowed Trust with Rotary Foundation and are at present Major Donors at Level 3.

National Service Scheme was introduced in the college in 1975.
The college has four NSS units with 400 volunteers including a Girls' unit.
